During the month of February we predicted if Punxsutawney Phil would see his shadow on Groundhog Day. We learned that our predictions don’t always come true. Our seniors helped us make Valentine Hands, and we wrote all the people and things we are thankful for. We also enjoyed making Valentine Cards for the nursing home patients. On February 4th we attended a program with the Dental Monkey. We really loved brushing his teeth. We finished the month by celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday. We listened as Mrs. Donna Howard read I Can Read with My Eyes Shut and Little Monkey Lost. Dr. Mahaffey read the tongue twister Fox in Socks. Mrs. Laura Landrum and Mrs. Macy Hudson entertained us with Hooray For Diffendoofer Day!, I Can Lick 30 Tigers Today!, and One Fish, Two, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Ms. LeAnna Hammer read The Foot Book, and we measured the length of our foot. Mrs. Carla Langley finished off our special guest readers. We made Fox in Socks puppets and will look forward to reading to our seniors our favorite parts of our Dr. Seuss books.
