Chambers Academy is a SACS and AISA accredited institution which was established in 1969 by 15 founding members who wanted an option in educating the young people of Chambers County. Their hard work, along with the efforts of dedicated parents, faculty, staff and community members has developed a strong and thriving Chambers Academy. What began with a few grades has grown to include a year round daycare program as well as academic programs for kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school students.
Chambers Academy currently has 180 students and 18 full time faculty members resulting in a 12:1 student teacher ratio. That fact alone helps to ensure that students’ educational, mental, physical and spiritual needs are known and nurtured. Over 50% of the faculty has post graduate degrees and the student male to female ratio is 50/50. Also, our students consistently score above average on national standardized tests and our high school curriculum has a strong college preparatory focus.
Academic facilities at Chambers Academy include instructional classrooms with SmartBoard technology, a computer lab, a science laboratory, a library, and administrative, coaching and counseling offices.
The Academy currently fields 10 athletic teams for young men and women. Our athletic facilities include a gymnasium and football, baseball and softball fields.
Each student is encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities. There are several clubs and organizations in addition to our athletic offerings allowing all students to experience life outside the classroom.
Chambers Academy’s campus also houses a licensed daycare facility for families desiring a safe and stimulating environment for their preschoolers. An extended after school day program is also available for our students.
Chambers Academy is a member of the Alabama Independent School Association and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
It is the policy of Chambers Academy that no student will be excluded from participation, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in any program or activity on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, ethnic group, disabling condition or limited English Proficiency.
