Counselor’s Corner

It is crunch time for our Seniors! If you have not filled out your FAFSA, it is time! Most colleges and universities have a deadline of March 1st for scholarship purposes. If you miss this deadline, your child may no longer be eligible for many scholarships! If you need assistance with this process please do not hesitate to shoot me an email. Seniors are also in the process of applying for many scholarships at the moment. Please encourage your students to apply for as many as possible.  There are so many scholarships available if you just look for them!

Our Juniors are getting deep into learning about the careers of their choice. They have begun many projects related to this, and we have now had guest speakers begin to come in for their topics. Before long we will be in the process of working on our Job Shadow Project.

In other news, we had several students who took the ACT on February 11th. If you have a Junior who has not yet tested at least once, I HIGHLY recommend they get signed up for the June test date. Students in grades 9-12 need to be working on and turning in their community service hours before the end of the year. This is just a friendly reminder that each student in those grades will be responsible for 20 hours of community service before graduation. Please contact Ms. Milford if you have any questions regarding anything in this article.
